Green Anthurium
I don’t know how it started but anthuriums were my love language to my mom. All the years I was in Africa, I’d get someone to bring her anthuriums from me!
Maybe I like their simplicity. A minimalist flower: no frilly petals just a waxy bold bright simple statement. The long skinny part sticking out is called a ‘spadix’.
This is part of a trio of 3 anthurium paintings in honor of mothers—past, present, and future.
