Looking Up
Life has difficult bits followed by wonderful bits, and you never know when a change is going to happen.
Raising a family in Africa has certain challenges, but I was totally caught off guard when our daughter developed a classic case of anorexia. We knew nothing about the disease and tried to help, but eventually had to evacuate to the US for treatment with our daughter so weak she was near death.
Those were dark days.
We happened to locate near a grad school that specialized in cross-cultural communication. Their profs were my heroes whose writings I devoured.
In those days, it was inconceivable for our family to relocate so I could do a study program, but here we were, for an extended period of time, and I went for it!
And I keep looking up, because you never know when something good might drop out of the sky.
The kicker in this painting is that sometimes I see a pyramid, sometimes a valley. It all depends on perspective!
